Matthew cut his hand this evening just before going to bed, after having his bath. He was obviously in quite a bit of pain, but didn't really start screaming until we suggested that he wear a plaster.
He last had a plaster when he cut his knee in the summer playing outside. He didn't particularly like plasters then, so we bought some Peppa Pig plasters to try and make wearing one more fun. Unfortunately these didn't go down too well tonight, and it took two of us holding him and prising his hand open to cover his cut!
After finally securing the plaster, the screaming gradually calmed down though he was still not keen. I think he associates plasters with pain, as he remembered the last time he wore one.
Other random news: earlier this month we discarded Matthew's pushchair as he's now too big for it and the bottom of his shoes reach the pavement. We have been using it less and less, though I had still taken it with us when he had a haircut last month and my Mum has been using it until fairly recently. My Mum now finds Matthew too heavy to push, so we asked Matthew if he still wanted the pushchair and he said that he is happy to walk. The back wheels are now practically bare, the rubber having worn out from use, so it was definitely a good investment.
