I took Matthew swimming this morning, for the first time in a while, but unlike previous times he wasn't frightened of the water and was happy to let go of my hand once he'd got used to the temperature of the water.
He wasn't keen on trying to swim today but enjoyed walking across the pool from one end to the other, which he did for most of our time there. We also chased each other, which he found hilarious, and towards the end I did hold him up in a swimming position and carried him across the water really quickly while trying to encourage him to kick his legs and splash his arms which he also thought was fun. I was hoping this might encourage him to swim and let go of him at one point but he just reverted to walking.
It's still progress from his last visit to the pool, though, as he was much more independent today.
